Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan visited D-Chowk here on Friday. He directed Islamabad Administration and Capital Development Authority (CDA) to prepare feasibility for construction of martyrs' monument at D-Chowk. Nisar said the purpose of building a martyrs' monument at the said venue is to pay homage to those who laid their lives for country.
He said that dignified nations always remember those who lay their lives for the sake of the country. He said that the D-Chowk in the Capital should not be used for political gatherings, protests and anarchy and the place should be used for symbolic monument in memory of those who laid their lives for the sake of the country, he added.
The minister said that construction of monument just opposite to the Parliament, would not only provide an opportunity to Pakistani Nation but also to foreign heads of states to pay homage to sacrifices of martyrs.
