Shah Faisal Afridi, S M Naveed and Farhan Latif have been elected as president, senior vice-president and vice-president of the Pak-China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry, respectively. They were elected in the first annual general meeting held in Lahore in which election results for office-bearers and executive committee members for 2015-16 were announced. The results were also confirmed by election commissioners appointed as per Trade Organisations Act / Rules 2013.
The executive committee comprised Shah Faisal Afridi, S M Naveed, Farhan Latif, Asim Khurshid, Hameed Akhtar Chadda, Saad Akbar Khan, Hafiz Abdul Waheed Sana, Zarak Khan, Ahmed Faheem Khan and Javed Iqbal. The committee praised the chamber's role in strengthening and sustaining the Pak-China bilateral relations and cultural harmony between the two nations. During the meeting, auditor was appointed; annual report and audited accounts were also adopted. Shah Faisal Afridi said the chamber was trying to strengthen the industrial sectors of Pakistan by bringing Chinese investments in the areas of combined interests such as electrical appliances, textile, furniture, food processing, handicrafts and agriculture. "It is an honour for him to continue his mission of making Pakistani business environment favourable for relocation of the Chinese Industry to Pakistan," he added.
