Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association (PCGA) has issued the figures of cotton arrival up to October I, 2015. Seed cotton (Phutti) equivalent to over 30,73,325 bales of cotton have reached ginneries across Pakistan as of October 1, showing a decrease of 25.68 percent compared to corresponding period last year when ginneries received 41,35,096 bales.
According to the third fortnightly report of Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association (PCGA) issued here on Sunday, out of the total arrivals, 3.07 million bales of cotton have been converted into bales so far.
Ginneries in Punjab recorded arrival of 13,31,839 bales recorded decrease of 32.71 percent. Sindh ginneries recorded arrival of 17,41,486 bales while last year Sindh received 21,55,605 bales. Ginneries in Sindh recorded a shortfall of 19.22 percent as compared to corresponding period last year.
Textile mills have bought 22,12,900 bales while exporters bought 2,30,190 bales. The total bales sold out so far were calculated at 24,43,090 bales. Multan received 13,155 bales 76.54 percent short than last year, Lodhran 20,488 bales 54.10. percent short, Khanewal 2,41,663 bales 33 percent short, Muzaffargarh 49,950 bales an increase of 115.30%, Dera Ghazi Khan 52,593 an increase of 123.60 %, Rajanpur 62,539 bales, 65.42 percent increase,Layyah 42,450 , 59.59% increase, Vehari 1,80,869 bales 46.58 % less, Sahiwal 1,52,578 bales 42.95 % less than last year, Pakpattan 53,829 bales 47..29 % less, Okara 17,614 , 33 % less,Qasur 8,650 , 22.25 percent less, Toba Tek Singh 92,937 bales, Faisalabad 31,420 bales, Jhang 27,450, Mianwali 23,350 , Bhakkar 21,539 Sargodha 4,800, Rahimyar Khan 31,440 bales, Bahawalpur 78,442 ,and Bahawalnagar 1,24,092 bales.
In Sindh: Hyderabad 1,46.118 bales 20.92 percent less than last year,Mirpur Khas (Thar) 2,22,570 bales 27.05 percent less, Sangarh ,9,17,129 bales 154.36 % less, Nawabshah 1,34,364 bales, Naushero Feroze 60,491 bales, Jamshoro 1,10,291 bales, Badeen 26,355 bales and Balochistan 19,416 bales. Total 753 ginning factories are operational in the country. Of them 507 in Punjab and 246 in Sindh, total 6,30,235 bales are lying in unsold stock.
