The Pakistan Flour Miller's Forum has rejected the wheat issuance policy announced by the Punjab Food Department. Forum in charge and Flour and wheat committee Chairman Bilal Sufi talking to a flour mill delegation in Lahore said, "We have strong reservations on difference in rate of wheat announced by Sindh and Punjab. The Pakistan Flour Mills Association has failed to get announced equal policy as Sindh wheat issue rate is Rs 1,280 per 40 kg against Punjab's Rs 1,300.
"This policy will hit the people of the Punjab, the Punjab Food Department and 90 percent of the flour-milling industry. People will eat expensive flour; department stocks giving billions of rupees in losses and the flour industry will never be able to compete with Sindh and KPK mills. The only beneficiary of this policy will be hoarders."
