Paediatric Department, Liaquat University of Medical & Health Sciences Jamshoro in collaboration with Maternal Neonatal Child Health Program Sindh (MNCH), UNICEF & Child Welfare Trust (CWT) will hold the 8th One-Day Paediatric Symposium at a local hotel, here 10th October (Saturday).
More than 1000 paediatricians and family physicians from all over Sindh are expected to participate in the symposium. Professor Noshad Ahmed Shaikh, Vice Chancellor LUMHS will be chief guest while Professor A G Billoo will be Guest of Honour on the occasion. The aim of the symposium is to update knowledge and improve clinical skills by Pre-Symposium Workshops of paediatricians and family physicians according to standard recommendations.
It is noticed that common problems are infections like diarrhea, pneumonia and malnutrition with underlying problems of lack of family planning, poverty, addiction, environmental pollution and lack of education. Despite existing national program and intervention, large number of children continues to die or become sick due to Pneumonia, Diarrhoea, Measles, Malaria, and Malnutrition.
