Following the disagreement over the formation of medical board and the release of pilots' pictures in media, Chief Pilot Officer (CPO)-A-320 Captain Khurram Butt and CPO-ATR Captain Tariq Alam have forcibly been removed from the posts; it was learnt here on Wednesday.
According to sources, both captains had shown defiant attitude over the formation of medical board for the pilots, submitted sick reports besides releasing their pictures in media, which they termed as vengeful approach adopted by the management against pilots. They said that they had resigned from the posts under management duress.
Meanwhile, PIA spokesman Aamir Memon termed it as routine matter, saying that it was purely an administrative decision and had nothing to do with PIA-PALPA wrangle. He informed that Captain Babar Durrani has taken the charge of CPO for ATR while Captain Hasan Zaidi is now CPO for A320.
