Punjab Assembly on Wednesday passed 'The Punjab Local Governments (Amendment) Bill 2015'. This bill was recommended by Standing Committee on Local Governments and Rural Development. The house also passed 'The Punjab Flood Plain Regulation Bill 2015'. This bill was also recommended by the concerned standing committee.
During the Wednesday session four ordinances were also laid in the house including 'The Punjab Private Educational Institutions (Promotion and Regulation) Ordinance 2015,'The Ali Institute of Education Lahore(Amendment) Ordinance 2015,' 'The Ghazi University , Dera Ghazi Khan (Second Amendment Ordinance 2015'and'The Punjab Urban Immoveable Property Tax (Amendment) Ordinance.
The house also passed a resolution extending the validity period of 'Punjab Special Protection Unit Ordinance 2015' promulgated on August 12, 2015 for ninety days. Through another resolution the house also extended the validity period of 'Punjab Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (Amendment) Ordinance for ninety days. The provincial legislature through a resolution extended validity period of 'Punjab Food Authority (Amendment) Ordinance 2015 for a period of ninety days. The house deferred deliberation on two bills 'The Punjab Commission on Status of Women (Amendment) Bill 2015' and 'The Punjab Maternity Benefits (Amendment) Bill 2015'. Later, the house was adjourned.
