At the onset, I express my personal deep sympathies with the affectees of the disasters faced by Pakistan since its independence especially the increasing number in lastone decade. Let me reiterate the resolve of the Government of Pakistan towards a disaster resilient Pakistan.
We are concerned about the challenges of climate change and its adverse impacts which are manifested in the form of disasters. The Government is committed to invest in Disaster Risk Reduction and strengthening of Disaster Management System of the country to ensure sustainable development and saving precious lives. I salute People of Pakistan for their demonstrated resilience and all stakeholders of the Country's disaster management system for putting an effective response in challenging environment. We are at the threshold of unprecedented development to realize the vision of Economic corridor and hence need to put in a comprehensive strategy to contain the disaster and forge resilience in our people.
