Punjab has faced the detrimental effects of Climate Change in the form of erratic monsoons, torrential rains, flash floods and recurrent riverine floods in last one decade. However, I am glad to note that our response mechanism has strengthened, the institutions of disaster management have evolved well and community resilience has increased manifold.
We need to focus on Disaster Risk Reduction at Government level for a meaningful response and significantly enhance public awareness to put up a coherent response to reduce losses and build a better and stronger Pakistan.
