Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Karachi has become the first institute in Pakistan to launch an Online Election Portal giving access to its graduates all across the globe to participate in Election for the post of Alumni Representative on the IBA Board of Governors. An IBA official on Wednesday said that the Portal (https://alumni.iba.edu.pk/election) will allow the graduates to login, file and propose nomination and cast vote from the comfort of their homes anywhere in the world.
It was pointed out that for more than two decades, IBA Karachi has engaged its graduates to become part of the decision-making process at IBA and in guiding the institute closer to its vision. Every three years, graduates with at least three years standing elect one Representative from amongst themselves for a place on the BoG.
Previously, only a few hundred (mostly located in Karachi) would go to polls but with the launch of online portal the voters list has swelled to a mammoth 10,000 figure spread across 4 continents. In a message to the IBA Alumni, Dean and Director IBA Karachi, Dr Ishrat Husain, felicitated the IBA team comprising Dr Zaheeruddin Asif, Programme Director, Alumni Affairs, Imran Batada, Head of ICT, Haris Tohid Siddiqui, Manager Alumni Affairs and Muhammad Sharif Jamali, Senior Web Developer for achieving this historic feat and exhorted that Alumni actively participate in Election through this online portal and elect a suitable candidate for the post. -PR
