PCB to set up special camp ahead of Asia Cup
After a great tour of Zimbabwe, it looks like the Pakistan cricket team is all set for the upcoming Asia Cup starting next month.
The tournament is scheduled to start from September 15 featuring six top Asian teams. For the preparation of the tournament, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to set up an eight-day training camp in Lahore.
According to the proposed schedule, the players will undergo physical training in the morning session. In the afternoon session, they will work on their batting, bowling and fielding skills at the Gaddafi Stadium.
The Pakistan team will reach the United Arab Emirates (UAE) four days prior to the tournament. Currently, some of the Pakistan cricketers are spending time with their families and will regroup for the camp.
PCB officials are also mulling over the option of gathering players in Abbottabad two to three days prior to the eight-day training camp.
The national selection committee, headed by chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq, is expected to announce training camp dates for the Asia Cup next week.
