Businessmen Panel (BMP) has unanimously decided to nominate former President FPCCI Senator Haji Ghulam Ali as its presidential candidate for the upcoming Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) elections for 2016. The decision was made at a consultative meeting of the Central Executive Council in which the Patron-in-Chief BMP Tariq Sayeed, Chairman BMP Sultan Chawla and Provincial Chairmen Mian Anjum Nisar, Zakaria Usman, Naveed Jan Baloch, Haji Ghulam Ali, Mirza Abdul Rahman, along with Mian Mahmood Ahmed and others.
It was noted that the Federal Territories: FATA, Islamabad and Tribal Chamber has reposed full confidence in Haji Ghulam Ali and backed him as the strongest candidate and true representative of the whole region. The BMP noted that Ghulam Ali is the ideal candidate to lead FPCCI at a time when it has lost its stature as the apex body of the country due to incompetency and internal politics of the ruling group. In the last 10 months, FPCCI has played no role in resolving issues of trade and industry, rather divided the business community.
Today, the traders are protesting on the streets and industries are closing down. In the present circumstances, only an experienced and well respected candidate can revive the lost stature of the apex body and bring all traders, industrialists and Government on one page to resolve issues of the business community.
