Aman Health celebrated the "World Mental Health Day", by organising a walk in Ibrahim Hyderi, Korangi, Karachi. The walk was co-ordinated today by Aman Health's mental health initiative, "MASHAL". "World Mental Health Day" is celebrated to build awareness on the importance of mental health.
Member, Sindh Provincial Assembly, Shafi Muhammad Jamot, also participated in the walk and endorsed Mashal, the mental health initiative of the Aman Health. On the occasion of the ceremony, the Chief Guest, MPA Sindh, Shafi Muhammad Jamot, said: " I applaud Aman Health's mental health initiative, Mashal, which is doing a great service in building awareness for Mental Health.I am delighted to be a part of Mashal's Mental Health Walk on the occasion of World Mental Health Day. Mashal has highlighted mental health as a key priority area for our society's well-being and they deserve great recognition for this unique service".
Altaf Hussain Musani, Head of Community Health Services at Aman Health Care Services, also commented: "The theme of this year's Mental Health Day is "Dignity in Mental Health". The importance of mental health in Karachi and Pakistan cannot be highlighted enough. Mashal has been treating mental health patients free of cost in the most underserved communities of Karachi. The Mental Health awareness building walk was led by MASHAL team. It began from Mashal's mental health clinic situated at Moro hall, Ibrahim Hyderi, and ended at the PAF Base at Ibrahim Hyderi. Aman Health's senior management also participated in the Walk. Volunteers, recovered patients along with their caregivers, and other stakeholders supported the mental health initiative of Aman Health by participating in the walk.
