How ironic it is that prime minister had to clarify something that he had never said. Making his position clear that he had never said that his government would overcome electricity challenge within six months, he has expressed his resolve to overcome power shortages during his government's current tenure.
He has been reported as saying that "I never said I would eliminate the power outages in six months. However, I had said that we will definitely try to end it during our government's five-year tenure."
It is true that Nawaz Sharif did not make 'six-month' claim. It was, in fact, his brother Punjab Chief Minister who had been making a variety of claims with regard to power crisis. The PM was, therefore, required to declare that 'six-month' claim was in fact Shahbaz's.
