Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) candidate Ayaz Sadiq has won the most keenly contested NA-122 seat, defeating PTI candidate Abdul Aleem Khan by a close margin of about 4,000 votes, whereas it has lost NA-144 (Okara) seat by over 40,000 votes. According to unofficial results, Ayaz Sadiq got 75,287 votes, while Aleem Khan polled 71,255 votes. PTI candidate for provincial assembly seat, Shoaib Siddiqui won PA-147 (Lahore), defeating PML-N candidate Mohsin Latif by over 2,000 votes after final unofficial results of total 117 polling stations.
In NA-144 (Okara) by-election, independent candidate Riazul Haq defeated PML-N candidate Ali Arif Chaudhry by a margin of 40,000 votes. According to unofficial results, Riazul Haq polled 83,000 votes, while PML-N candidate got only 41,050.
Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has congratulated Muslim League-N candidate Sardar Ayaz Sadiq on his success in bye-elections of NA-122.
He said victory of Sardar Ayaz Sadiq is victory of politics of public service and the fake politics of those who were trying to purchase the conscious people of Lahore with money has been exposed.
He said that people have buried the politics of lies, allegations and hypocrisy forever and politics of public service has once again won. He said people have totally rejected Qabza mafia and defaulters. He said Sardar Ayaz Sadiq will serve the nation with new enthusiasm and determination.
