All candidates of NA-122 and PP-147 kept visiting polling stations in the constituency on Sunday. PML-N backed candidates Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and Mohsin Latif polled their votes soon after the start of polling and visited different polling stations along with workers.
PML-N Lahore president & MNA Pervez Malik, special Assistant to PM Dr Asif Kirmani were seen among the public.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf candidate Abdul Aleem Khan, Punjab Organiser Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar along with PTI Secretary General Jahangir Tareen and Mian Aslam Iqbal also visited different polling stations of NA-122 while Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed and PTI Punjab President Ejaz Chaudhry also reviewed polling process in the city.
Ayaz Sadiq prayed Namaz-e-Zuhr at Jamia Naeemia while Aleem Khan visited Data Darbar early in the morning praying for their win.
Smooth polling for NA-122 by-poll remained continued in a peaceful atmosphere at all 284 polling stations without any break. Workers of both the parties chanted slogans against each other but the overall situation remained in control.
Speaking to reporters, Ayaz Sadiq said there was no tension and atmosphere was like a day of Eid.
Our polling agents were present at polling stations at 7:00am which showed their passion and energy, he added. He said the PML-N had directed workers not to get involved in any sort of scuffle.
On the other hand, DCO Lahore Capt Muhammad Usman (retd) and DIG Operations Dr Haider Ashraf also visited the constituency to review security arrangements for the voters.
