Pakistan exports have declined by 20 percent in September 2015 over the same period of last fiscal year, according to Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (FBS). Provisional trade figure for the first quarter of the current fiscal year (July-September 2014-15) released by the PBS on Tuesday showed that exports declined to $1.732 billion in September 2015 from $2.175 billion in September 2014.
Imports also declined in September 2013 by 23.27 percent compared to the same month of last fiscal year. The country imported good $3.48 billion in September 2015 as compared to $4.54 billion during September 2014. As a result of a decline in imports and exports, month on month trade balance was less by 25.94 percent in the current fiscal year compared to the same month of last fiscal year with trade deficit falling to $1.75 billion from $2.36 billion. Pakistan exports have also declined in September 2015 compared to previous month with 5.6 percent less export of goods and products. During the month, exports stood at $1.73 billion as compared to $1.83billion for August 2015.
The country's imports also witnessed a decline of 8.84 percent in September 2015 over previous month after country imported goods worth $3.48 billion in September compared to $3.82 billion during August 2015. Traded deficit for the first quarter (July-September 2015-16) of the current fiscal year has shown a reduction of 14.81 percent over the same period of last fiscal year as deficit was contracted to $5.5 billion from $6.47 billion.
Exports have declined by 13.93 percent and imports by 14.4 during the first three months of the current fiscal year as compared to the same period of last fiscal year. Exports have decreased to $5.16 billion during July-September 2015 from $6 billion during July-September 2014 and imports to $10.679 billion from $12.474 billion.
