A meeting of the sub-committee of National Assembly Standing Committee on Water and Power was held at Wapda House Peshawar, here on Wednesday. Dr Syed Ghazi Ghulab Jamal presided over the meeting. Members of the committee Junaid Akbar,Sahibzada Muhammad Yaqub, Mulana Muhammad Gohar Shah, Chief Executive Pesco Syed Hassan Fazil, CEO Tesco Zakaullah Ghandapur, NTDC representatives, Pesco and Tesco high officials attended the meeting.
Committee was told that two new grid stations were constructed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa recently with a cost of Rs 477 million while several grid stations were upgraded with a cost of Rs 140 million and 38 new grid stations will be constructed in different parts of the province with a cost of Rs 21 billion while nine grid stations will be upgraded. In the meeting important points of developmental works with the collaboration of NTDC were discussed and necessary instructions were issued in this regard. Committee was also briefed about line losses and it was assured that all efforts are being made to gradually decrease the line losses.
