Shehzad Ali Khan who belonged to Nawab Family of Khangarh has been elected unopposed as Chairman of Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association (PCGA)for 2015-16.While Girdhari Lal from Sindh and Malik M Sarfraz Nazim Awan (Bahawalpur) were elected unopposed as Vice chairmen.
The Election Commission announced that no one turned up for filing candidature to compete the election thus they have been elected as Chairman and vice chairmen. The sitting chairman of PCGA Haji Hafeez Anwar expressed solidarity with the APTMA. Eighteen candidates appeared for 15 seats of Executive Council of Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association(PCGA). Of them three candidates, ie Ihsan-ul-Haq ,Jahanzeb Saeeed and Luddo Mal withdrew their candidatures. Consequently other candidates were elected unopposed. They are: Muhammad Arshad, Khawaja Muhammad Arshad, Chaudhry Qaiser Mehmood, Sheikh Ashfaq Ahmed, Mr Gopal, Qadar Bakhsh,Suhail Mehmood Haral, Girdhari Lal,Pawan Kumar, Mian Fazal Elahi, Tariq Amir Khan, Malik Sarfraz Nazim Awan, Abdul Sattar, Muhammad Shahid Ali Chauhan and Muhammad Akbar. Election for the slots of Chairman and Vice chairmen will be held on October 15 as per instructions of Director General Trade Organisations.
