Pakistan International Airline (PIA) has so far maintained its post-Hajj flights schedule by around 40 percent; it was learnt here on Thursday. Sources said that post-Hajj operation, which started from September 27, 2015 and would continue till October 28, had mainly affected due to PIA-PALPA dispute. The flight records, exclusively available to Daily Business Recorder, revealed that PIA had operated 125 flights during its post-Hajj operation till October 12, and maintained around 40 percent punctuality.
Out of total 125 flights, some 49 flights were landed on time while rest of the others were delayed. The airline has operated 33 flights for Karachi and the punctuality rate is hovering around 27.2 percent. Similarly, 28 flights were landed in Lahore, out of which 15 flights were reached as per scheduled time. Pilgrims from Islamabad have faced major delays as out of 18 flights, only one landed on time. The national flag carrier, which operated 46 flights for other cities - Multan 15 flights, Peshawar 13, Quetta 17 and Sialkot one, has maintained an average punctuality rate of 54.34 percent so far.
