The Karachi Port handled 149,840 tonnes of cargo comprising 101,145 tonnes of import cargo and 48,695 tonnes of export cargo including 6,930 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Friday. The total import cargo of 101,145 tonnes comprised of 46,196 tonnes of containerised cargo; 41,559 tonnes of bulk cargo: 31,500 tonnes of coal; 2,848 tonnes of DAP; 7,211 tonnes of SB meal and 13,390 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 48,695 tonnes comprised of 38,195 tonnes of containerised cargo and 10,500 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 6,930 containers comprising of 3,143 containers import and 3,787 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday. The break-up of imported containers shows 1,325 of 20's and 814 of 40's loaded while 164 of 20's and 13 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 1,110 of 20's and 338 of 40's loaded containers while 549 of 20's and 726 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were two ships namely Ever Radient and YM Express carrying containers respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. There were three vessels viz. Portofino, Hyundai Confidence and Chang Formosa Falcon carrying containers and oil tanker respectively currently at the berths. There were three ships namely Portofino, Ponente and Nave Cassiopeia carrying containers and oil tanker respectively sailed out to sea on Friday, while another ship namely Xin Nan Tong carrying containers is expected to sail on Saturday.
There were two vessels Sheng Shi and CSC Zhong Hai carrying vehicles and general cargo respectively due to arrive on Friday, while three vessels viz. OEL Dubai, Merkur O and Dione Leader carrying containers, gas oil and vehicles respectively are due to arrive on Saturday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 128,379 tonnes comprising 88,332 tonnes of import cargo and 40,047 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 3,475 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Friday. The total import cargo of 88,332 tonnes includes 33,457 tonnes of furnace oil; 17,822 tonnes of edible oil; 4,125 tonnes of soyabean and 32,928 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo includes 40,047 tonnes of containerised cargo. There were three ships namely CV Maersk Sentosa, CV MSC Beijing and CV CMA CGM Corneille carrying containers sailed out to sea on Friday morning. A total number of six vessels viz. CV Maersk Sentosa, CV MSC Beijing, CV CMA CGM Corneille, Panama Sterling, MT Karachi and MT Bunga Azalea currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, soyabean, furnace oil and edible oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as four ships carrying containers, general cargo and LNG were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim on Friday. There were three vessels carrying containers and furnace oil took berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Thursday. There are six ships namely CV Pucon, Maersk Inouima, CV Margit Rikmer, MV Diana Island, MV Castle Santimo and MT Mathan Nile Eagle carrying containers, general cargo chemical and LNG respectively due to arrive on Friday.
