On Thursday, at Pakistan Mercantile Exchange (PMEX), value traded was PKR 6,794 million as compared to PKR 5,348 million reported on Wednesday, an increase of 27 percent. The number of lots traded also increased by 49 percent to 36.91 million from 24.79 million. PMEX Commodity Index increased by 0.61 percent and closed at 2,588.
Major business was contributed by gold amounting to PKR 6,560 million, a 37 percent increase when compared to the previous trading day. This was followed by crude oil (PKR 121.91 million), silver (PKR 106.67 million), cotton (PKR 1.32 million) and rred chilli (PKR 4.03 million)
