Users of Apple's iPhone and iPad devices shouldn't just rely on the company's iCloud system for backing up data, according to a German computer magazine. Although the cloud service automatically makes regular backups of all device contents, it can sometimes take a long time to recreate a lost system from the backup.
Mac & I magazine recommends making a locally backed-up copy using iTunes. Get the computer to make the backup by picking the This Computer option under the Automatically Back Up function in the Summary section of iTunes.
There is also a choice between an encrypted and an unencrypted backup. The encrypted version is to be preferred, writes the magazine. It ensures data about your health and logs that track your digital activity data are securely private, along with other data you might not want exposed to hacking.
Once personal data is backed up, it's also a good idea to get all purchased music, apps and other contents safely onto the backup. Transfer this data by ticking the appropriate boxes - the ones that call for information to be synced - within the Music, Apps, Movies and TV Show sections of iTunes.
