Senior Sindh Minister for Information and Education, Nisar Ahmed Khuhro has said that the PPP is representing masses and its leaders Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto and workers always struggled and sacrificed their lives for the rights of the people and democracy that is why today hundreds of thousands of people are leaving their parties and joining the PPP.
He said this while addressing a public gathering in the village Jiandal Kot near Matiari where Syed Imdad Ali Shah Jamot along with his supporters announced to leave the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf and join the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).
He claimed that the PPP had never supported dictators for gaining benefits in elections but always stood on principles and for peoples' rights.
He congratulated Syed Imdad Ali Shah Jamot and his allies for joining the PPP and expressed hope that the party would be stronger in Matiari district.
Later, talking to media persons, Khuhro said that taking back resignations and joining the Sindh government by the MQM are two different things and added that MQM MNAs and MPAs should still be considered as members of assemblies.
Replying a question regarding the stoppage of teachers' salaries in Matiari, he said that the appointments of teachers in 2012 were being investigated while 17 thousand teachers appointed through NTS Test on merit were getting their salaries.
He said that the PPP always gives jobs rather making people jobless. At present, the Election Commission of Pakistan has imposed ban on jobs but as soon as the ban is lifted, people would again be given jobs by the Sindh government, he assured.
He said that there is no law & order issue in Sindh as business activities are increasing day by day, adding that new industries are being established in the province which would create job opportunities for the local people.
Replying a question about allegations of corruption in Sindh, he said that it is easy to blame anyone but allegations must be investigated and once they are proved, then let courts decide them.
Earlier, Syed Imdad Ali Shah Jamot along with his men announced to join the PPP.
MNA Syed Ameer Ali Shah Jamot, Shagufta Jumani, MPA Makhdoom Rafiq-uz-aman and others also addressed the gathering.
