Dengue viral fever claimed life of a woman in Karachi on Friday, taking this year's death toll from the viral disease in the city to seven. A 42-year-old woman, Nighat, a resident of Shah Faisal Colony, died of dengue fever in government sector medical university hospital during treatment. She was under treatment in the hospital since a week.
Health department sources confirmed that the woman's death occurred due to dengue in the hospital. A total of seven dengue patients have died from dengue viral fever since 1st January 2015 in the city. At least 2450 dengue fever cases were reported from Karachi city since 1st January 2015 to date.
