Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch inspected Samungli Flyover site, here on Friday. Balochistan Chief Secretary Saifullah Chatha, Secretary Home Akbar Hussain Durrani, IG Police Muhammad Amlish, Principal Secretary Muhammad Naseem Lehri, Secretary Communication and Works Haji Ali Ahmed Mengal, Commissioner Quetta Division Qambar Dashti and others were also present.
The Chief Minister was briefed that the project would cost Rs 1,499.225 million. Flyover would be 385-km long and 16.10 metres wide. Besides, 814.27 metres long service road would also be built having 8.20 metre width. He was told that the project would take 24 months to complete. Around 22,000 vehicles would cross the fly over daily, which would ease the traffic burden. The Chief Minister directed the officials of communication and works that the project should be completed within 12 months instead of 24 months so that difficulties of people during construction of fly over were minimised.
He further directed that road should not be broken for building service road ahead of schedule. He also directed that period and standard of the project should be maintained.
