Kashmiris from across the Line of Control (LoC) and the world over will observe Black Day on Tuesday to convey the message that India has occupied Jammu & Kashmir against their will and denying their inalienable right to self determination. It was on 27th October in 1947 when the Indian troops entered Jammu and Kashmir and occupied it in sheer violation of the Partition Plan of the Subcontinent and against the aspirations of the Kashmiris.
The day will be marked with a complete shutdown in Indian Occupied Kashmir and rallies in world capitals. The call for the shutdown has been given by veteran Hurriyet leader Syed Ali Gilani and other Hurriyet leaders, including Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Shabbir Ahmed Shah and Muhammad Yasin Malik and supported by pro-freedom organisations and the High Court Bar Association of the occupied territory, KMS reported.
A protest demonstration was organised by Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party on Sunday at Mattan Chowk against the nocturnal raids, arrests and harassment of people by the Indian forces in the district.
Women also participated in the protest in large number. A protest was also held at Ilahi Bagh in Srinagar against the desecration of Holy Quran in Bhaderwah area of Jammu region. The Jammu and Kashmir Social Peace Forum led by Syed Ali Gilani, at a function in Jammu, denounced the act and demanded strict action against the culprits.
