Chief Secretary of Sindh, Muhammad Siddiq Memon, in wake of possible chances of earth quake, has declared "High alert" across the province. In view of jolts that shook upper areas of the country this afternoon the provincial chief secretary in his directives issued to concerned departments urged officials to develop an urgent "state of preparedness" and take necessary pre-emptive measures.
All hospital, rural health centres and dispensaries were ordered to remain functional round the clock while provincial departments must also develop strong coordination with each other in case of any serious situation. Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA - Sindh) along with officials of health department, local government, commissioners and deputy commissioners of different districts have been asked to ensure that measures are adopted to reduce intensity of associated loss to minimum. This, he said is in case of God forbid any part of Sindh too may experience the jolt.
