President of Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI), Zahid Saeed has urged the Sindh government to immediately resolve infrastructural problems being faced by industries in the metropolis. He recalled that in the fiscal year of 2008-9, Rs 1, 129 million was allocated for industrial development by the provincial government and the allocated amount was also dedicated to resolve infrastructural problems of Karachi, Hyderabad, Nooriabad, Sukkur and other industrial areas of the province. But now, the Sindh government is constantly ignoring the development of industries, he added.
The KATI chief also urged the government to launch projects for improving industry and trade based transportation in the province as it signed an agreement with Asian Development Bank for a project named Sindh Provincial Roads Improvement Project (SPRIP).
Zahid further said that it is high time for both federal and provincial governments to make long lasting strategies with the consultation of industrialists and business community to resolve turbulent situation of roads infrastructure and other utilities. He demanded the Sindh government to remove the burden of provincial taxes in upcoming fiscal year so that Sindh-based industry could also make progress.
