Sindh Microfinance Bank a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sindh Bank Ltd gets banking license from State Bank of Pakistan to operate as a provincial level bank in Sindh. Sindh Microfinance Bank having its head office in Karachi was incorporated in March this year with equity of Rs 750 million injected by Sindh Bank.
Sindh Microfinance Bank will focus on serving the under-developed areas of Sindh ensuring that the basic banking services should reach the poor people with emphasis on the rural women empowerment. The bank has chalked out a comprehensive plan to introduce products and services aiming at providing economic support to thousands of rural households. Commenting on the occasion, Bilal Sheikh, President/CEO of Sindh Bank thanked State Bank of Pakistan for the license enabling Sindh Bank to play its due role in the economic uplift of the downtrodden segment of our society. He added that access to credit was the basic right of people and Sindh Microfinance Bank would endeavour to fulfill its duty by providing credit at their doorstep.-PR
