Around 100 trainees comprising five batches have successfully completed skill training in arts of Leather Embroidery, hand-loom weaving District Charsadda and Mardan under the Skill Enhancement and Livelihood Initiative project. According to a press release issued here on Monday, skill centres established by AHAN under Skill Enhancement and Livelihood Initiative SELI-III are going to complete four month period successfully in 2nd week of November.
10 Skill Centres for male beneficiaries in Handloom Based Weaving are functional and making woolen shawl and khaddar in Charsadda & Mardan under the supervision of Master Trainers. The project has been launched in Charsadda and Mardan for 300 female and 200 male beneficiaries. The trainees also include 25 percent Afghan refugees.
The centres established in sub-district Shabqadar, Charsadda are producing khaddar and woolen shawl according to market needs, adds the press release. The trainees got opportunity to go on Exposure Visits to Micro Financial Institutes, Women Business Development Centre-Social Welfare and commercial markets/hubs in Lahore, Islamabad and Peshawar.
