Sindh Police on Wednesday decided to form a focal investigation group to probe into police officials' murder cases registered during 2015. It was decided at a meeting presided over by Inspector General of Police (IGP), Sindh, Ghulam Hyder Jamali at the Central Police Office.
The focal interrogation group to be headed by Additional Inspector General (AIG) of Crime Investigation Department (CTD) would investigate into policemen's killing cases registered in various stations during 2015. The group's members include officials of Special Investigation Unit (SIU), Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) and senior superintendents of police of concerned districts and investigation department.
The IGP on this occasion directed the operational and investigation police to maintain a close liaison with each other and leave no stone unturned in apprehending the culprits involved in heinous crimes and killing of police officials.
At the outset, the Inspector General of Police (IGP),observed that some progress has been made in the interrogation process of various such cases. The meeting was attended, among others, by AIG (Karachi), Additional Inspector General (Special Branch), AIG (CTD), AIG (Operations), DIG (Headquarters) and officers of CTD and CIA.
