Breast cancer: public awareness walk held

The King Edward Medical University's (KEMU) Department of Surgery in Lahore set up a walk on Wednesday to raise public awareness about breast cancer. Vice Chancellor Professor Faisal Masud too took part. Professor Khalid Masood Gondal, the department head, told a gathering that delayed diagnosis was the main reason for breast cancer plus ignorance and quackery.
Professor Ayesha Shaukat, the organising committee chairperson, talked about pre-cancer precautionary measures. Professor Syed Asghar Naqi, Professor Abrar Ashraf Ali, Dr Abbas Khokhar and Dr Hamid Ansari then discussed treatment and modern trends.
