President Mamnoon Hussain on Wednesday approved confirmation and extension of 12 additional judges of Lahore High Court and appointment of nine Additional Judges of Sindh High Court. The President gave the approval on the advice of the Prime Minister on the summary sent to his office by the Senate. The Batch-I of the additional judges of LHC who have been given confirmation/extension include Justice Arshad Mahmood Tabassum, Justice Muhammad Tariq Abbasi, Justice Chaudhry Muhammad Masood Jahangir and Justice Sadaqat Ali Khan.
The Batch-II of eighth additional judges of LHC who have been given extension for one year include Justice Khalid Mehmood Malik, Justice Chaudhry Mushtaq Ahmad, Justice Masud Abid Naqvi and Justice Chaudhry Muhammad Iqbal. Those who have been confirmed as additional judges at LHC include Justice Ali Akbar Qureshi, Justice Qazi Muhammad Amin Ahmed, Justice Shahid Karim and Justice Mirza Viqas Rauf.
The additional judges of SHC who have been appointed for a period of one year include Ghulam Qadir Leghari (DSJ), Abdul Ghani Soomro (DSJ), Muhammad Iqbal Maher, Khadim Hussain M Shaikh, Zulfiqar Ahmad Khan, Mahmood A Khan, Muhammad Karim Khan Agha, Anwar Hussain and Muhammad Faisal Kamal Alam.
