Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly has ordered the recovery of the millions of rupees from different concerned officials of the provincial government. The directives were issued during a meeting of the committee held here with MPA Mahmood Ahmad Khan Bhatni in the chair. MPAs Syed Jaffar Shah, Shaukat Ali Yousafzai, Mufti Said Janan, Arbab Akbar Hayat, Idrees Khan and Qurban Ali attended.
The committee discussed in details audit paras about Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), Public Health Engineer (PHE) and Communication and Works (C&W) departments during financial year 2011-12 regarding Hangu Division and took several important decisions.
The committee while expressing severe anguish over grave financial and administrative irregularities in different affairs of these departments handed these issues to sub-committees. The committee made it clear that the panel cannot close eyes to financial irregularities rather will stern disciplinary action against government officials involved in it. The PAC further clarified that the committee is committed of purging government departments of irregularities and warned officials involved in irregularities will be punished without taking care of their status or position.
The committee further clarified that departments should correct their systems before their pinpointing by the audit. It said that the audit pinpoint irregularities on the basis of minor record and felt that concerned departments should give clearance to their officials on the occasion of their retirement. The meeting was also attended by Secretary, Communication and Works (C&W), Mohammad Asif, Additional Secretary, Amjad Ali, Deputy Secretary, Inamullah Khan, Assistant Secretary, Haris Khan, Director General (DG) Audit, Mohammad Faheem, Director Audit, Lal Mohammad, Audit Officers, Shamsher Ali Khan, Wajid Ali and higher authorities of the concerned departments.
