Cantonment Board Clifton (CBC) started fumigation drive in the wake of rising cases of dengue fever in Karachi. Dengue, a devastating viral disease caused by breeding habitats of the major mosquito vectors, aedes, aegypti has emerged as a major health problem of the country in the recent past. CBC has launched an intensive fumigation campaign in their respective areas of jurisdiction on to obviate outbreak of epidemics especially the lethal dengue virus menace.
The comprehensive campaign launched includes fumigation, spray and oiling drives intended against the stagnant water, Pond, storm water, drains, garbage dumps, nullahs and manholes. Executive Officer CBC Shahrome Safdar Khattak has asked the senior medical officer CBC Dr Amreen Junaid to established immediately dengue medical cell and also instructed concerned staff of CBC to leave no stone unturned for making the campaign against the deadly viruses a success.-PR
