Korangi Association of Trade and Industry's (KATI) president Zahid Saeed has urged the people, in general and the business community, in particular, to donate generously for the rehabilitation of earthquake-affected people.
He said that though it was the responsibility of the government to provide relief and rehabilitate all quake-hit people, need of the hour was that all segments of the society must demonstrate unity with the institutions engaged in providing relief to the people affected by the natural calamity.
He said that the Kati has already established a cell for providing relief to the quake-affected people and its members were taking part in the relief efforts.
The Kati's patron-in-chief, S M Muneer, said that the business community will extend its full co-operation to the government and the Pakistan Army in providing relief to the earthquake-effected people.
Lauding the efforts being made by Pakistan Army, federal and provincial governments for rehabilitating the quake-hit people, S M Muneer said that the tragedy has once again proved that the entire nation demonstrate unity during trying circumstances.
He also praised rescue and relief operations being carried out by various non-government organisations (NGOs).
