The eunuchs, long deprived of their rights, have full and complete protection of inheritance under the Constitutional provisions and they may access Human Rights Wing's helpline for guidance and advocacy in this regard. Special Secretary Ministry of Law Justice and Human Rights, former Justice Muhammad Raza Khan, talking to APP on Sunday said Muslim Personal Law Application Act 1935 is the only law which is still intact, despite slightly amended in 1962, and added its also ensure eunuchs rights.
He said the hindrance is lack of implementation which is further complicated due to differences of shares in view of various sects. It involves sectarian opinions and bindings when property of a dead is divided, he added.
He said the ministry has set up a helpline for free advisory of legal aid to general public and eunuchs can also access for the guidance and advocacy.
The secretary said it is a useful facility where any one can contact to get assistance on any legal matter free of cost.
Every call received on the helpline is recorded and experienced advocates respond it immediately if possible or note the query and get back to the person after thorough consultation.
Muhammad Raza Khan also stressed the need to make the helpline more effective by creating awareness among people.
Replying to a query regarding vacant posts of Human Rights Wing, he said after withdrawal of ban, surplus staff was adjusted and remaining vacant seats would be filled soon through National Testing Service.
The recruitment process on approved posts of National Commission on Status of Women was also initiated on government scale but later they decided to adopt management scale, resulting delay in the process, he said.
