Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) while conducting various operations in different parts of the country, seized 84Kg Charas and 8.7Kg Heroin and apprehended 17 offenders involved in drug trafficking and impounded six vehicles. The value of seized drugs is Rs 256 million. According to ANF spokesman Colonel Habib, ANF Lahore intercepted a suspected car near main Motorway Toll Plaza, Faisalabad and apprehended Qasim Jan r/o Peshawar and recovered 4Kg Heroin, concealed in secret cavities of car.
ANF Rawalpindi Airport team during routine profiling at Benazir Bhutto International Airport Islamabad apprehended a passenger identified as Wahdat Khan r/o Charsada who confessed of ingested Heroin filled capsules. He was scheduled to fly for Abu Dhabi. In another operation, ANF Rawalpindi arrested three local drug suppliers identified as Riaz, Shoukat Hussain and Atlas Mehmood and recovered 7Kg Hashish from them. They were arrested near Pandorian Chowk, Mangla, Jhelum.
During another operation, ANF Rawalpindi intercepted a vehicle near Mullan Mansoor Toll Plaza, GT Road, Attock and seized 18.75Kg Hashish concealed inside the vehicle. During operation, three accused including Abdul Haleem (driver) resident of Peshawar, Abdul Baseer (conductor) resident of Nowshera and Muhammad Ali (conductor) resident of Khyber Agency were also arrested on the spot.
ANF Rawalpindi recovered 2Kg Hashish and 1Kg Heroin from personal possession of Muhammad Iqbal at Chungi No 26, GT Road, Rawalpindi. ANF Rawalpindi during routine checking recovered 17 Kg Hashish from a Suzuki Mehran at Tarki Toll Plaza and arrested three drug traffickers. ANF Peshawar seized a suspected parcel destined for UK at Fast Courier Company Office, Saddar, Peshawar and recovered 620gram Heroin concealed inside the carton containing bed sheets. As per detail, the parcel was booked by Sohail resident of Peshawar and was intended to be received by Khan Zaman residing in Birmingham.
In another operation, ANF Peshawar while acting on a tip-off, apprehended Safdar Ali and Yousaf Khalil, residents of Swabi and recovered 8Kg Hashish hidden beneath the seats of the Qingqi rickshaw. They were travelling near Mardan Swabi Road, Isaeemlia, Swabi. ANF Karachi Airport team apprehended a passenger named Faisal destined to Dubai by Emirates Airlines at Jinnah International Airport and recovered 3.055Kg Heroin concealed in his bags. In another operation carried out near Mehran Oil Coy, Hyderabad, ANF Karachi intercepted a motorcycle and arrested two drug peddlers along with 3.1Kg Hashish and 20gram Heroin from their personal possession. All cases have been registered at respective ANF police stations and further investigation is underway.
