The federal government released Rs 168.43 billion (24 percent) under Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for various development projects out of the budgeted allocation of Rs 700 billion for 2015-16. The government has not yet released any funds for Textile Industry Division and Federal Tax Ombudsman out of the budgeted allocations.
According to the latest data released by the Ministry of Planning, Development and Reforms, a total of Rs 7.8 billion were released for Railways Division out of Rs 41 billion earmarked in the PSDP (2015-16). The government released Rs 5.9 billion for various projects of Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission out of its total budgeted allocation of Rs 30.4 billion earmarked under PSDP for 2015-16. A sum of Rs 209 million were released for Planning, Development and Reforms Division out of Rs 13.68 billion budgeted for the year. According to the data, the government released Rs 1.57 billion for Interior Division for which Rs 8.3 billion was earmarked in the budget of the current year. The government also released Rs 205 million for Science, Technology and Research Division out of its budgeted allocation of Rs 1.1 billion.
The government released Rs 5.7 million for Aviation Division out of Rs 3.9 billion budgeted for this year. A total of Rs 427.87 million has been released for Cabinet Division, Rs 117 million for Capital Administration and Development Authority, Rs 75 million Communication Division (other than NHA), Rs 297 million for Defence Division and Rs 35.5 million for Establishment Division.
The Planning Commission released Rs 894.6 million for Finance Division out of its budgeted allocation of Rs 9 billion while Rs 803.6 million were released for Federal Education and Professional Training Division. Federal government also released Rs 23.5 billion for Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA- Power sector) out of its Rs 112.8 billion budget while Rs 5 billion were released for WAPDA (Water sector) out of the budgeted Rs 30 billion.
The Commission released Rs 6.4 million for Climate Change Division, out of its total allocation of Rs 39.75 million while Rs 119 million were released for Revenue Division out of total budgeted allocation of Rs 335 million. The government released Rs 14 billion for National Highway Authority (NHA) out of the total allocation of Rs 159.6 billion for the current fiscal year. The Planning Commission released Rs 14.65 billion for Higher Education Commission out of the total allocation of Rs 31.1 billion.
The government released Rs 1.6 billion for Earthquake Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Authority (Erra), out of its total annual allocation of Rs 7 billion; and a sum of Rs 2.2 billion were released for AJK development projects out of its annual allocation of Rs 13.3 billion. The government released Rs 4.25 billion funds for the development projects of Gilgit-Baltistan out of Rs 9.94 billion budgeted for the current year.
