Peshawar Electricity Supply Company (Pesco) has decided the construction of a new 132 KV grid station in Peshawar Cantonment. For this purpose several sits were inspected by the technical teams, but due to congested area and lengthy process it was decided construct the said grid station at Wapda House, but keeping in view of the urgency of matter, it was decided to construct the said grid station at Wapda House Colony, Peshawar.
The ground-breaking ceremony of the project was held at Wapda House, with Chief Executive, Pesco Syed Hassan Fazil as chief guest. Speaking on the occasion, he said the construction of that grid station would cost Rs 256 million loan provided by the Asian Development Bank and it will be completed within 14 months. The contract of the project has been awarded to Siemens Pakistan Engineering Company after completing all codal formalities and it started work.
