Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association (PCGA) has issued the figures of cotton arrival up to October 31st, 2015. Seed cotton (Phutti) equivalent to over 64,65,600 bales of cotton have reached ginneries across Pakistan as of October 31st showing a decrease of 22.87 per cent compared to corresponding period last year when ginneries received 83,82,419 bales.
According to the fifth fortnightly report of Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association (PCGA) issued here today, Chairman of PCGA Shehzad Ali Khan briefed about cotton production and said Out of the total arrivals, 6.46 million bales of cotton have been converted into bales so far. Ginneries in Punjab recorded arrival of 3,445,171 bales recorded decrease of 34.21 per cent. Sindh ginneries recorded arrival of 3,020,429 bales while last year Sindh received 3,145,843 bales merely 3.99 % less. Ginneries in Sindh recorded a shortfall of 3.99 % as compared to corresponding period last year. Textile mills have bought 4,216,665 bales while exporters bought 33,355 bales. The total bales sold out so far were calculated at 4,550,220 bales. Multan received 72,984 bales 66.67 percent short than last year; Lodhran 52,979 bales 60.07. % short, Khanewal 305,072 bales 51.67 % short, Muzaffargarh 158,095 bales a decrease of 30.46 %, Dera Ghazi Khan 203,323 a decrease of 17.15 %, Rajanpur 2,78,138 bales, 12.35 % decrease, Layyah 156,781, 17.61% decrease, Vehari 2,52,513 bales 54.94 % less, Sahiwal 1,95,693 bales 52.08 % less than last year, Pakpattan 61,731 bales 57.09 % less, Okara 20,715 49.18 % less, Kasur 11,250, 30.98 .% less, Toba Tek Singh 110,113 bales, Faisalabad 39,560 bales, Jhang 39,551 Mianwali 1,31,452, Bhakkar 48,391 Sargodha 8,800, Rahimyar Khan 521,122 bales, Bahawalpur 403,365,and Bahawalnagar 373,543 bales.
In Sindh: Hyderabad 231,813 bales 0.93 % less than last year, Mirpur Khas (Thar) 262,,634 bales 27.25% less, Sanger 1,233,450 bales 7.57 % decrease, Nawabshah 265,018 bales, Naushero Feroze 217,709 bales, Jamshoro 1,29,200 bales ,Badeen 31,600 bales and Balochistan 46,327 bales. Total 993 ginning factories are operational in the country, of them 722 in Punjab and 271 in Sindh. Total 1,915,380 bales are lying in unsold stock.
