Pakistan Peoples' Party (PPP) in the Punjab is gearing up for the next phase of the Local Bodies' elections. Party sources said on Tuesday the party was serious than ever in contesting the elections and trying to mobilise voters at the union council level. They also said the party had already held extensive meetings with local chapters at the district level.
The Election Commission (EC) will hold elections in another 12 districts during the second phase on November 19. The districts include Attock, Chiniot, Gujranwala, Jhelum, Sargodha, Hafiz Abad, Sheikhupura, Toba Tek Singh, Mianwali, Sahiwal and Mandi Bahauddin. But the sources have warned that law and order will be a challenge for the provincial government.
