University of Karachi and Pakistan Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (PCSIR) on Friday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to improve research work in both the institutions. Dr Aliya Rehman, Director Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialisation (ORIC), University of Karachi, and Dr Hafiz Rub Nawaz, Director PCSIR-LRC Karachi, signed the MoU in the presence of other officials of the institutions.
Both institutions fully realise the potential of collaborative working and sharing of knowledge and experience for the larger benefit of institutional growth. In the current global scenario, working in collaboration will bring more fruitful results. Innovation and entrepreneurship are the criteria for the students and the faculty which will ultimately develop entrepreneurial universities as a global trend.
Joint scientific activities will be designed for closer contact of students and faculty. This will enhance the cross cultural and cross organisational understanding, learning from their counterparts and developing new innovative and entrepreneurial ideas. Leather research, learning the tannery operations, internships and joint workshops and seminars will create a valuable forum for collaborative professional working.
