SeaSpark 2015 witnessed: Prime Minister for eternal vigilance against threats
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday reposed complete trust and confidence in the operational capabilities of Pakistan Navy and said the challenges at hand necessitate eternal vigilance to safeguard against external and internal threats. The Prime Minister was in the North Arabian Sea to witness the manoeuvres by an array of naval combat platforms, as part of Pakistan Navy's major maritime exercise - SeaSpark 2015, conducted to showcase its combat readiness.
During the exercise, the Pakistan Navy demonstrated a range of Naval Warfare Operations against traditional and non-traditional threats including counter terrorism and anti-piracy drills, live weapons firing and fly past by Naval Aviation units. The Prime Minister was received by the Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah when he arrived at the Pakistan Navy ship Nasr.
Deputy Chief of Naval Staff (Operations) gave a detailed briefing to the PM on the conduct of the exercise and Pakistan Navy's contributions towards maritime sector, coastal development and Humanitarian Assistance operations. The exercise was also witnessed by Defence Minister, Chief Minister of Sindh, Governor Balochistan and senior officers of Pakistan Navy, Army and Air Force. Exercise SeaSpark 2015 provided a valuable opportunity to enhance combat readiness of Pakistan Navy and interoperability with PAF and Pakistan Army. Pakistan Navy remains a key player for the maintenance of regional maritime order, which is crucial for national as well as world's economic stability.
