President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon arrived here Wednesday on a two-day official visit for discussion on issues of mutual interests including co-operation in economic, energy, infrastructure development for rail and road links with Pakistani leadership. The visiting Tajik President was received by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif at Nur Khan Airbase.
During the visit, he will meet President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. At the invitation of the Prime Minster of Pakistan, this will be President Rahmon's sixth visit to Pakistan. The Tajik President is accompanied by a high-level delegation comprising ministers, other senior officials and leading businessmen of Tajikistan.
The visit of the Tajik President is part of regular high-level exchanges between the two brotherly countries. It further stated that CASA-1000, a project of regional energy co-operation among Tajikistan, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Kyrgyzstan, would be another major area of co-operation that would come under discussion.
