The Meteorological department has forecast heavy rain/snowfalls in the earthquake areas of upper KPK, Kashmir and Fata for the second day today. On Thursday, rain occurred at scattered places in Fata, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan, while at isolated places in Quetta, Zhob divisions and Kashmir.
As the mercury dropped to -04 at Parachinar -00C at Kalam, Malamjabba Hunza and Skardu 02, the Met Office recorded rainfall as Parachinar 20 mm , Dir 19, Malamjabba 12, Kalam, Lower Dir 09, Drosh, Saidu Sharif 06, Risalpur, Chitral 05, Pattan, Mirkhani 04, Balakot, Gupis 03, Peshawar, Astore, Gilgit 02, Kakul, Skardu 01. In its daily weather forecast for Friday the Met Office said that a westerly wave is affecting upper and western parts of the country and likely to move eastwards today.
On Friday rain-thunderstorm (with snowfall over the hills) is expected at scattered places in upper KP (Malakand, Hazara, Mardan divisions), upper FATA, Rawalpindi division, Islamabad, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, while at isolated places in Kohat, Peshawar, Gujranwala, Sargodha and Quetta divisions. During next 24 hours mainly dry weather is expected in most parts of the country. However, light rain (with light snowfall over the hills) is expected at isolated places in Malakand division, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Rain-thunderstorm (snowfall over the hills) with isolated heavy falls is expected at scattered places in Malakand, Hazara divisions during next 24-48 hours, while at isolated places in Malakand division of KPK on Saturday. Expected Minimum Temperature Range: Dir (00 to 02°C), Lower Dir (04 to 06°C), Chitral (03 to 05°C).
Rain-thunderstorm (snowfall over the hills) with isolated heavy falls is expected at scattered places in FATA during next 24-48 hours. Cold and dry weather is expected on Saturday. Expected Minimum Temperature Range: Parachinar (-05 to -03°C) Rain-thunderstorm (snowfall over the hills) is expected at scattered places in Gilgit-Baltistan during next 24-48 hours, while at isolated places on Saturday. Expected Minimum Temperature Range: Gilgit (03 to 05°C) and Hunza (00 to 02°C).
