The federal government is told to respond to a petition against the cancellation of holiday on the Iqbal Day within three weeks. Petitioner Farhad Ali Shah told the Lahore High Court on Thursday that the Interior Ministry had cancelled the holiday through a notification without a reason, saying, "For the future generation we have to follow the teaching of Allama Iqbal." He also told the court the notification was illegal and unconstitutional.
