National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Friday arrested Javed Ahmad, ex-Director General Provincial Housing Authority (PHA) for alleged embezzlement and misappropriation of funds through over payment to illegal and fake owners of land and caused more than Rs 150 million loss to public exchequer. The Provincial Housing Authority (PHA) was acquiring land for construction of a Housing Scheme for government servants and general public at Moza Meera Jalozai, Tehsil Pabbi, District Nowshera.
For this purpose they acquired the said land under Land Acquisition Act, 1984 and determined total compensation of land as Rs 1015.175 million. At the time of the payment it was observed that extra payment being made to illegal and fake owners of land and the total payment exceeded the original compensation. According to Bank record it is revealed that extra, double and triple payment has been made to Land owners.
