The Lahore High Court has disqualified the elected councillor in Bhalwal for holding double national identity cards. The LHC has also told the Election Commission to hold re-election. The verdict came after a voter of the constituency filed a petition against the unopposed victory of Ahmad Raza from Union Council-7 in Bhalwal. On Friday, his counsel told the court that elected councillor had two identity cards which is against the law and the latter had also enrolled in the voter-list twice. Despite attempts by the counsel to defend his client, the court finally gave the order for his disqualification.
